Excellent point. A ~25% increase in face surface is not a small increase. It has to be a merging of the nano and iPod so that a completely different iPod can be released--touch-screen iPod. A shuffle, a fat-nano, and an iPod Touch could be the line-up. Or the leaked pic could be fake and we are all wasting our time. :)

The math is such:

Area of nano = 1.6 x 3.5 = 5.6

Area of fatso = 2.3 x 3 = 6.9

6.9 / 5.6 = 1.23... so it's 123% of the area of the nano - meaning its got a 23% bigger face.
